Fruit The Sémillon is sourced from the Los Olivos District AVA and the Sauvignon Blanc is from the Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara AVA.
Winemaking The two dominant varietals in the classic Bordeaux White Blend are Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. For the Queen Bee Blanc we whole-cluster pressed, cold settled the juice and racked to neutral barrels for primary fermentation. At eleven months, we gathered round the table to find just the right blend and, voila, we hit it and bottled.
What's It Like? This classic white Bordeaux Blend combines the soft edges of the Sémillon and the fruit and acidity characteristic of Sauvignon Blanc. This is a crowd-pleaser that's right for any occasion.

90 pts, Wine Enthusiast (6/1/19): "It's always exciting to see what winemakers do with Sémillon, which remains uncommon in this part of the world. This bottling blends it 50-50 with its traditional partner, Sauvignon Blanc to produce aromas of lemon skins, apple rinds and earthy, hot sandstone. There is a slight oily and waxy character to the palate, where flavors of light almond and lemon skin arise." —Matt Kettmann
