Fruit
This is a blend of 80% sauvignon blanc and 20% sémillon.  Both come from a vineyard in the Los Olivos District AVA within the Santa Ynez Valley.

Winemaking
The fruit was harvested on September 21, 2018, almost a month later than the Queen Bee Blanc from 2017.  The extra hang time delivers some more intense varietal flavors in both the sauvignon blanc and the sémillon.  These two varietals are used in the traditional white Bordeaux.  The sémillon adds a softness and roundness to the sauvignon blanc that produces a winning combination.  Once primary fermentation was complete, we racked the wine to neutral oak barrels and filtered before bottling.

What's It Like?
The backbone is citrus, with a lime zest theme.  The mouthfeel is smooth and round, as we expect it to be from the sémillon and the treatment in neutral oak.  Very friendly drinker.
